Quintess, Leading Residences of The World is a well-seasoned destination club that offers a panoply of exceptional homes and high end international villas, in the 3-5M range, many are architecturally significant, created by young dymabic architects and interior designers. One of the newest and most popular is the Amangani residence in Jackson, Wyoming. Tim Grimes, the Architectural designer lives in Jackson, and designs homes based on his deep love for the otdoors, and specifically for the Teton Range. “ My vision is always to be bring the outside in, so from almost every window, you can see the exceptional mountain and deep valleys around you. The Amangani is one of those homes where outdoor living is brought in, and vice versa.” The interior designs are of equal important in a home of this magnitude, each addition must be defined in terms of comfort, beauty and utility.

But no matter what, the interior and exterior designs must work together to create a sense of comfort, of home to the Quintess member.

And Eric Ramanathan, Quintess member comments on this particular travel experience,

“We just got back from a vacation in Jackson Hole, at the Amangani property. It was the best family vacation we have ever had. When you are at home, cooking together and eating in isn’t a big deal, but on vacation it tends to be a lot harder. When we were at Amangani, we cooked in four of the seven nights we were there. Plus, it changes the pace of the vacation. With the fully stocked kitchens, the kids can snack or eat whenever they want, which makes it feel more like home. We slow down and appreciate things. At the Quintess, LRW houses, cooking isn’t a chore—it’s an activity to be enjoyed and shared. We planned a day at Yellowstone National Park and the Host recommended we get a guide. We saw a grizzly bear with her cubs and there were about 300 bison walking next to the road. Those are memories I’ll have throughout my entire life. Back at the property it was so cool that the kids were swimming in the pool as I was sitting on the deck looking at the Tetons.”

One of the many ideas that positively binds these clubs together, is a deep understanding regards the provision of the great vacation experience. And in order to do that, every detail of everyday living must be considered. What is the most luxurious bed? Bed linens? What would be the most beautiful, as well as the most useful stemware? Dishware? What colors? All of these things must move the senses. The suppliers who supply such objects to many of the high end clubs is Dahlgren & Duck – people who, in their own way, are great architects of the member’s more subtle, sensuous experiences while at these clubs.

“ We are the people who supply the items for the senses: those you touch, drink from, eat with says Jim Dahlgren. “We are, the suppliers of the sensual experience that often effect the members without them actually having known it was happening. The members feel the magic! We supply the best bed they slept in, the most comfortable sheets, the most exceptional stem and flatware, all the small things that play a big part in the long term comfort memory of the member.”

In general, within the PRC and DC vacation experience, each small object – cups, saucers, the kind of coffee you drink and tea you choose, the color of the china, the thread count on the sheets, the bathroom soap and lotions, all are chosen to reflect in a subtle way, the vision and mission of the club, the architect and the interior designer.

At its most genuine, the architectural and the design motive – from the choice of brick to the selection of teacups, is yet another form of communication: the motivation to write poetry, novels, to paint, to compose music. But instead of communicating through words, music, and paint, the architect and interior designer communicates through texture, design, colors, and objects – melding space both inside and out, to create the most memorable building blocks of the great vacation experience, the essence of the member’s vision of happiness.
