Sharing in the dream
Despite the fact that I choose not to partake in the Lotto, I do have a lottery winner's wish list. It is not set in stone and is subject to change at a moment's notice, but often when my mind wanders into the realm of day-dreaming, I consider how a million pounds or ten could be put to good use.
But even if one does have the means to purchase all of the material things, it does not necessarily make sound economic sense to do so. Fractional ownership or asset-sharing can still add up both figuratively and mathematically when it comes to particular purchases, simply due to the amount of time that one can realistically make use of a specific good or service and the costs associated with it. With this in mind, I set about seeing how many of my millionaire fantasies I could make come true on a more modest budget through Fractional Life's fractional ownership and asset-sharing partners.
Firstly, being a confirmed petrolhead, I consider my form of transport. Obviously, a supercar is a no-brainer, but which one? Well, there are a number of supercar clubs more than happy to provide you with access to their incredible fleet, with many coming in at the kind of price that a set of tyres and a new clutch would cost a full-time owner. In fact, although there are obvious time and mileage limits involved, you can become a member of any of these clubs for less than the first year of depreciation of an 'average' supercar. Supercars are great for posing, blatting about (within the posted speed limits of course) and generally giving you a warm tingle of well-being and childish excitement, but how about when you need something that is a little more restrained, subtle and (dare I suggest...) tasteful. Well, for such an occasion, a gentleman/lady needs the service of a classic car. E-Types, classic Porsches. Ferraris and even those vehicles which, not so long ago, were supercars themselves, can be found in our Classic section. What about where to travel in your chosen form of transport? Obviously, you want to go somewhere exotic, hopefully sunny and most definitely luxurious.
