New fractional agent launched
A new international real estate agent selling fractional properties has been launched in London. The Barker Collection is a new company set up by managing director Allan Barker to market both whole ownership and fractional ownership properties.
The company's initial offering includes properties in Spain, Italy, Thailand Barbados and Portugal.
A company statement said: “As well as traditional full ownership the company is also offering fractional ownership, a relatively new concept to the UK but a tried and proven concept abroad. Fractional ownership is not timeshare. With timeshare all you really own is the 'right to use', but with fractional ownership you own a share of the freehold title to of the property. Owning a share of the bricks and mortar changes the dynamics of property ownership. You can sell it at any time. You can benefit from any increase in value. You can by a share of a much larger property if you desire. Fractional ownership is flexible. It is much more of a lifestyle product than traditional ownership.”
