Timbers ski resort geared up for season
Private residence club operator Timbers Resorts said it expects to close 100 deals with owners at its new Steamboat Springs condominium development over the next few weeks. The resort, at prime Colorado ski resort Steamboat, officially opens on January 9, and Timbers says it expects to see 80 per cent occupancy of the 80 units during the ski season.
Project director Chris Burden said: “Our owners are already booking vacations. We have a concierge on staff, and we’re already booking activities for our guests.”
However, Steamboat Today reports that the skiing public will get its first up close and personal experience with One Steamboat Place when the ski area opens for the 2009-10 season. That’s when the public plaza linking Mount Werner Circle to the Gondola Transit Center opens for business.
“It’s important for us that the plaza is open when the ski area opens,” Burden said. “This is a new entrance to the mountain.”
Burden said he hopes the public will recognize One Steamboat Place as more than a new luxury condominium complex.“It’s more than just condominiums at the base area; it’s an expansion of the base village,” he said. Once the building is fully open in January, he encourages anyone who is curious about the new project to enter through the plaza level main entrance and ask for a guided tour. The office is immediately to the right of the entrance doors. “We encourage Steamboat residents to stop in,” Burden said.
